The Charleston a Go-Go Summer School is Back!
Once again it's time to rip up the rule book and turn up the sunshine, for the return of the annual Charleston a Go-Go Summer School, and this year it's bigger than ever!
*Six* exclusive one-off workshops - attend as many or as few as you like
The chance to have a go at lots of different dance styles, and learn a full piece of choreography in one evening
Meet lots of dancers from different classes and have the chance to socialise
As always the emphasis is on mood-boosting fun, escapism from modern life, and learning the most joyful, iconic dance moves of all time

Heathcliffe, it's me, Cathy, I've come home now...!
Throw on a flowing red dress and get ready to wuther on the wild and windy moors, as we learn the iconic choreography to Kate Bush's Wuthering Heights. Fun fact - this was the very first dance I taught myself in my living room as a child. Little did I know then where my nerdy dance brain would lead me! Dramatic, sweeping and interpretative, it's completely liberating and joyful to dance!

Skidoo! Hotcha! Whoopee!
By popular demand we will be rouging our knees, rolling our stockings down and shimmying until our garters break for this theatre jazz classic. We'll be exploring Bob Fosse's iconic signature Jazz style, whilst learning actual Broadway revival choreography. Think hip isolations, splayed fingers, turned in toes and shoulder rolls, and an abundance of razzle dazzle and showgirl sass!

Dig out your leg warmers, because we're going back to the 80s...
...For a little Silver Screen summer magic! Cannot wait to get sweaty and dance like we''ve never danced before to the iconic song 'Maniac' from Flashdance. It's Jazz, it's 80s aerobics, it's hip rolls, it's running on the spot very, very quickly...! Expect to leave feeling fierce, wild and with a definite 80s glow!
Leotards are optional, 80s energy is essential
Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders - Thunderstruck

2, 4, 6, 8, who do we appreciate...?!
The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, for giving us this powerhouse routine to AC/DC's Thunderstruck. Think Radio City Rockettes with pom poms! It's high octane precision dance, blended with jazz technique, epic formation changes and canons. If you've ever wanted to fulfil the dream of being one of America's Sweethearts, this one is for you. Whilst there won't be any floor work, there'll be plenty of pom pom shaking!
Elvis Week - What'd I Say

August just wouldn't be the same without our annual Elvis spectacular to commemorate the passing of our King, Elvis Aaron Presley. This year we'll be heading to one of my all time favourite Elvis films Viva Las Vegas, for a hip shakin', thigh slappin' 60's classic - What'd I Say.
Fun fact - did you know that the girl with the red dress on is none other than Sixties dance icon Toni Basil, of Hey Mickey fame?!
Back to School Again - Grease 2

What's the greatest musical sequel of all time again...?
We've all been there. Spending our vacation in the summer sun, getting lots of action, having lots of fun. Scoring like a bandit 'til the bubble burst, suddenly it got to be September 1st! It started out as a joke warm-up for Sixties a Go-Go, and now it's graduated into having a full workshop of it's own. It's a cult classic, don't you know?
With *new* choreography, it's the perfect way to celebrate 1st September and ease back into term...
How to Book...
Whether you're a weekly class go-er, or are simply looking for a one-off chance to dance with us, everyone will receive a very warm welcome. You can book as many or few workshops as you like, and the more you book, the more you save. If you want to see the inspiration for each workshop, simply click on each image.
As always, choreography will be inclusive and accessible, with lots of options and adaptations to get everyone dancing together.
All workshops will take place on Tuesday evenings at CADS just off Bramall Lane.
