WHAT:  

​​The theme of this session is resilience, and will be a celebration of one of my favourite hip-shaking, trail-blazing women of the 1960’s – Tina Turner. In this *brand-new* workshop you will learn upbeat and mood-boosting choreography to the iconic Tina Turner song, Proud Mary.  With an emphasis on escapism, having fun and feeling fabulous, the goal is for you to leave feeling empowered and full of energy. 

 

HOW MUCH? 

 £15 minimum donation

 

At least £10 from each ticket sale will be donated directly to Saffron, with remaining money used to cover costs associated with running the event 

 

DRESS THEME: Sixties a Go-Go; Tina Turner fringing; IWD colours – purple, green or white

About IWD...

Celebrated annually on 8th March, IWD honours the achievements of women across all aspects of life, while also advocating for gender equality. 

 

IWD can mean different things to different people, including...

​​

  • Celebrating women’s achievements, highlighting their influence and successes throughout history 

  • Raising awareness of gender inequality through shining a light on persistent issues like the gender pay gap, gender-based violence, and unequal access to education and opportunities

  • Donating and fundraising for women-focused charities and elevating the visibility of their work

About Saffron Women’s Counselling Service…

 

Saffron is a unique, life-saving and life-changing therapy service, who help women in Sheffield rebuild their lives after abuse and trauma.  Their clients are amongst Sheffield’s most vulnerable women, who may have experienced multiple, complex traumas.

An estimated 13,824 to 16,492 South Yorkshire women aged 16 to 59 were victims of domestic abuse in 2021, a number that has been increasing year on year. 

 

Saffron are currently the only free service in Sheffield which offers up to a year of support for women who have experienced complex trauma.
