Fosse February Take-Over - It's Showtime, Folks!
Solo Charleston
Let's make the parties longer, the skirts shorter, and the music hotter...!
Iconic choreographer Bob Fosse once said, 'Dance expresses joy better than anything else', and what could be more joyful than a show-stopping Charleston to Hot Honey Rag? This knockout number from the 1975 musical Chicago is full of sass, energy and Broadway dazzle dazzle!
Over the 5 week course you'll learn a *brand-new* Charleston routine, which blends joyful, authentic dance steps of the Jazz Age with Fosse's original choreography and signature Jazz style.
You can hear the song and see my favourite Velma and Roxy here
Sixties a Go-Go!
Rich Man's Frug - yeah, yeah... yeah!
Visually stunning, quirky and cool, Fosse's Rich Man's Frug is arguably the most iconic choreography of the Sixties, going on to influence everything from Beyonce to Austin Powers. Full of Fosse's signature Jazz isolations, 'broken doll' tableaux, and of course the classic soft-boiled egg hands, this dance should appear on any Fosse/ Sixties dance fan's bucket list!
Over the 5 week course we'll also let loose with some of the most joyful Sixties dance crazes, and even a little D.I.S.C.O! Expect to leave feeling confident and empowered, having smiled your way through some sneaky accidental exercise!
You can hear the song here - check out those Edith Head costumes
